Former Barworks duo relaunch Old Street pub

William IV has been restored to its former glory by Lee Godwin and Mike Harrington.

William IV, a historic 200-year-old pub in London's Old Street, has been restored to its former glory by Lee Godwin and Mike Harrington.

With over a decade at operator Barworks, where they helped grow venues like Mare Street Market and the Well and Bucket, following the refurbishment the duo is now set to launch the pub’s Dining Room.

Located upstairs in the pub, The Dining Room menu will change daily, with seafood from Wright Brothers and itage meats from Swaledale Butchers. Example dishes are Guinness-glazed beef short rib, lemon sole with tarragon sauce and dill oil, and pork chop with anchovy and wholegrain mustard butter.

The downstairs pub menu at William IV will offer a refined take on classic pub dishes.

"We’ve always believed that outstanding food and drink should be within everyone’s reach," says Godwin. "That’s why we’ve teamed up with top-tier suppliers to deliver the highest quality ingredients and culinary excellence at William IV, all at a price that’s affordable. In today’s economy, indulging in luxury every day isn’t practical, so we’re committed to offering a premium dining experience for everyday dining. We’re excited to create a space where guests can enjoy both beloved pub classics and elevated dishes under one roof."
