EPC Legislation is changing – are you prepared?

From April 2027, all commercial buildings in England and Wales, including pubs and bars, will be required to meet a minimum Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C. This will rise to B by April 2030 and premises which do not comply could face fines of up to £150,000.

In Scotland, the government is still discussing regulations. However, given their legally binding target to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045, they could set an even stricter 2025 deadline for a ‘C’ rating.

Act now to save 25% on your energy bill and avoid potential fines

While this may sound daunting, the new legislation can be viewed as part of a wider sustainability strategy. Implementing some relatively simple energy efficiency measures now will help reduce your bills and meet the new Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) required.

Working with an independent energy consultant will pinpoint areas of high energy usage. An EPC Audit can identify no and low-cost changes to improve energy efficiencies and help you make savings: an average 25% reduction on your energy bill[1]. The consultant can also advise on implementation with minimal disruption to the running of your business.
