JW Lees unveils new Manchester city centre site

A Manchester family brewer has officially opened the doors of its refurbished venue, Founder’s Hall in Albert Square.
The redevelopment from owner JW Lees sees Founder's Hall replace the former Duttons Manchester site, which opened 10 years ago.
Founder’s Hall, the operator says, has a unique but familiar feel and will be a place to meet, eat and drink.
With the brewery at the heart of the business, paying homage to JW Lees founder John Lees and nearly 200 years of brewing history, Founder’s Hall is a shrine to JW Lees beers, showcasing a range of cask ales, craft lagers, traditional brews and small batch Boilerhouse beers. The décor also reflects this heritage.
Is there food?
The food menu features nibbles, bar snacks and small plates created for pairing with pints or sampling something new with beer flights. The main menu items are the hand-crafted pies and the Sunday roast with unlimited Yorkshire puddings and gravy.
From late February, a calendar of weekly and monthly events will start rolling out, including quiz nights and DJ evenings.
JW Lees was founded in 1828. It currently operates 47 managed pubs, inns and hotels, and also lets another 87 pubs to JW Lees pub partners.
