Frisco Pubs to open its fourth venue

North London pub operator Heath Ball has taken on his second site in Highgate.

North London pub operator Heath Ball has taken on his second site in Highgate, adding a fourth venue to the wider Frisco Pubs business.

Ball, who runs the acclaimed Red Lion & Sun on North Road, will take over The Angel Inn on 4 November. The new pub, formerly a Mitchells & Butlers managed business, is less than 200 yards from his current operation at the Red Lion & Sun.

"While the two pubs are close together, it gives me a great opportunity to provide a ‘little sister’ site to the Red, and it doesn’t seem to have done Tom Kerridge any harm in Marlow, with three pubs almost on the same road.

"Having a second site will give me the option to try some new things, like a breakfast and brunch menu, as I don’t have capacity at the Red for that. It will be nice to have a great, perhaps more relaxed, option down the road to send people to which will still have a great food and drink offer, just with a different kind of vibe."

Frisco Pubs

Under the Frisco Pubs title, Ball runs two other sites in The Lockhart in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, and The Wenlock Arms in Hoxton, east London.

With The Angel, he aims to “lightly trade” the site until the New Year, when he’ll conduct a major refurb and launch with a new and refreshed offer for the pub.

"We’re excited to take on this sister site to the Red,” adds Ball. "And we’re looking forward to offering more people the opportunity to experience our great food and hospitality services in Highgate."
