Punch launches Augmented Reality kids' menus

Punch Pubs & Co has launched a 3D digital colouring experience for children.

Children's colouring-in options at pubs have just received a major upgrade, thanks to a new launch from Punch Pubs & Co

The national pub company has partnered with location-based Augmented Reality (AR) business to launch a 3D digital colouring experience for children and families across their pubs.

Found on children’s menus, customers can use their mobile phone or tablet to scan the children’s colouring and see it come to life around them in immersive 3D animated pictures. Parents are then able to take a photo of and share it directly on their social media platforms.

With circa-1,300 pubs across the UK, Punch is trialling this new project across its Fireside concept in its Management Partnership estate.

"We are always looking at ways to elevate our in-pub experience for families with young children and this project aims to do just that," says Punch’s head of digital and creative James Goldsworthy. "AR might seem like some far away technology, but we believe that through the simple activity of colouring in, children and their families will be able to create shared experiences that reach beyond the pub and connect with wider family and friendship groups. I can’t wait for our guests to try it out and bring their drawings to life."
