Two more freeholds for Heartwood
Heartwood Collection, formerly Brasserie Bar Co, has acquired two new freehold sites.
Heartwood Collection, formerly Brasserie Bar Co, has acquired two new freehold sites to join its pubs with rooms proposition within Heartwood Inns.
The two new pubs will increase the group’s accommodation options by a combined 69 bedrooms.
Joining the business is The Rope & Anchor (formerly the Brookfield Hotel) in Emsworth, Hampshire, and The Coat & Bear in Newbury, Berkshire.
Backed by Alchemy Partners and chaired by Mark Derry, Heartwood Collection is on track to grow to over 60 inns and brasseries by June 2027, with an estate of over 500 bedrooms.
"The acquisition of these two fantastic sites serves to underline our ambition as a group and the momentum we are building," says Richard Ferrier, managing director of Heartwood Collection. "Emsworth and Newbury are both markets we know really well and have been monitoring for some time in the hope of securing the right locations for Heartwood Inns."
The deals follow Heartwood Inns’ recent announcement that it has acquired four other sites. The Plough & Harrow in Long Ditton is due to open in December 2023; The Quill & Scholar in Lichfield will launch late January 2024; The White Horse in Dorking will feature 56 bedrooms and is due to open in late February 2024; and The White Hart in Lewes, which will house 26 bedrooms, will be unveiled in late summer 2024.
"We are continuing to look for further freehold pubs and pubs with rooms to add to Heartwood Inns, with our ambition being to reach 500 bedrooms by June 2027," adds Ferrier. "It’s an incredibly exciting time for us with next year set to be a transformational one for the group."
