Boxpark gets planning permission for Liverpool Street

Boxpark has received planning consent for its new Boxhall concept in London's Liverpool Street. 

Following approval of its licelnsing by the City of London earlier this year, Boxhall City is set to open in summer 2024, after Boxpark agreed a lease with TfL for the Metropolitan Arcade building near Liverpool Street station.

Boxhalll is the group’s new high-end street food concept, with all sites to be developed in existing buildings, most of which will be historical, rich in cultural heritage or iconic in their respective local communities. 

The leisure group is set to transform the Metropolitan Arcade building into an all-day dining destination, home also to signature bars specialising in a range of draught, craft beers and cocktails. 

The approved proposals for Boxhall City include 16 kitchen units, two internal bars and a roof terrace. The 17,000 sq ft building has a ground floor with 280 internal seating covers and the garden roof terrace will boast an additional 170 covers.

The new Boxhall site is part of Boxpark's expansion plans following its recent announcement of the debut Boxhall concept in Bristol. Boxhall City will be the first of its kind in London with further sites to be announced later this year.
