Barworks to open second Mare Street Market
Barworks has confirmed it will open a second outpost in London’s King’s Cross.
Pub and restaurant operator Barworks has confirmed it will open a second outpost of its Mare Street Market brand in London's King's Cross.
Located on Lewis Cubitt Square, adjacent to Coal Drops Yard, Mare Street Market King’s Cross will offer a day-to-night hospitality and leisure offer spread across all three floors. This will include a café and co-working space, deli, restaurant and bar, with indoor and outdoor seating for up to 700 covers.
At 18,000 sq ft, it will offer 70% more space than the original Mare Street Market in Hackney and is the biggest venture to date from Barworks.

Barworks was founded in 1998 by Andreas Akerlund, Patrik Franzen and Francis-Baum, who is also a co-founder of Camden Town Brewery. The group is currently made up of several sites across London, including Gas Station and The Starman.
In November 2021, Urban Pubs & Bars acquired 13 sites from Barworks, dramatically reducing the size of the operator's London portfolio.
