Nightcap latest to join Zero Carbon Forum

Nightcap PLC, the hospitality group led by entrepreneur and ex-Dragons' Den investor Sarah Willingham, is the latest business to join the Zero Carbon Forum. 

The non-profit organisation is dedicated to significantly reducing emissions and achieving net zero in hospitality and brewing.

As a member, Nightcap joins many other pub and bar businesses, including Adnams, BrewDog, Fuller’s, Greene King, J D Wetherspoon, Marston's, Mitchells & Butlers, Revolution Bars, Shepherd Neame, St Austell, Stonegate, Wadworth Brewery and Young's.      

The forum's pledge is to work collaboratively and share best practice and knowledge to achieve net zero by 2030 across pub and bar operations, and by 2040 across the supply chain.

Another giant step 

"This is another giant step in Nightcap’s journey to be joining the Zero Carbon forum and working together as an industry," says Willingham, pictured above with the Nightcap founders. "As a young company, we want to start exercising and showing best practice now to start creating a long-lasting legacy in our business and in the hospitality sector."

Nightcap currently has 36 venues across the UK, made up of brands including The Cocktail Club, Barrio, Tonight Josephine, Blame Gloria and Disrepute.   

The business has already integrated various policies into its operations to help with its sustainability credentials. These include collaborating with OAK to analyse energy consumption across the Nightcap group, implementing smart plugs to conserve electricity during non-operational hours, and turning off air conditioning during off-peak periods. Additionally, Nightcap is actively working towards training programmes for all of its staff for energy use and its impact.
