Star licensees offered managed menus

Star Pubs & Bars is now offering its leased and tenanted licensees the opportunity to use dishes from its Just Add Talent (JAT) managed operator menu.

The move from the pubco comes as inflation, kitchen staff shortages and rising wages continue to make it harder and more costly for pubs to serve food.

Under the initiative, licensees can create their own menu by selecting from over 200 dishes within Star’s JAT managed pub food offer. 

Ingredients are purchased through a wholesaler at the same discounted prices that Star has negotiated for its managed pubs. Prices are guaranteed for six months, giving licensees certainty about costs that would not be possible without a managed contract.

"Delivering a successful menu has never been more challenging and time consuming for licensees," says Karl Watts, food development manager at Star Pubs & Bars. "This new support is designed to make it hassle-free to offer customers good quality food that is also profitable for the pub."

Food orders come with recipe sheets, detailing preparation instructions and portion sizes, along with allergen sheets and pricing with gross profits built in. The package also comes with a choice of ready-made menu designs.
