The Tall Ship at Gloucester Docks is relaunched

The Tall Ship pub at the entrance to Gloucester Docks has undergone a full renovation.

The Tall Ship pub at the entrance to Gloucester Docks has undergone a full renovation after a joint investment by pub owners Red Oak Taverns and new landlord Sam Nasrat.

This 18th century pub has been upgraded throughout, including the refurbishment of the toilets, an open plan area and central bar. The pub has new furniture with fixed and raised seating, and pictures celebrating the historic Gloucester Docks and tall ships.

"The new look pub is fantastic and our customers, whether they are locals or visitors to the Quays, love it," says Nasrat. "With the new food and drink offer and the broad range of live music that features local artists, we are getting a strong following of people who want to spend time here; it’s a really inclusive place”.

The pub serves Mr Yips Kitchen Asian street food from Tuesday to Saturday, lunch and dinner and traditional roasts on Sundays.

Formed in 2011 by Aaron Brown and Mark Grunnell, Red Oak Taverns is an independent national pub company which comprises 208 mainly leased and tenanted pubs.

“The pub has undergone an unbelievable transformation and it is now somewhere everyone can visit," says Jo Skuse, business development manager for Red Oak Taverns. "Whether you are a tourist to the area, out for some lunch or dinner, or fancy a pint of real ale, The Tall Ship is the place to be.”
