Wrexham's newest gastropub opens its doors
The Savvy Fox at Hotel Wrexham is welcoming guests following a £350,000 transformation.
Wrexham’s newest gastropub is open for business following a week of ‘first-look’ events, ‘friends and family’ food tastings and a VIP launch.
The Savvy Fox (formerly Rafters) at Hotel Wrexham (formerly Holt Lodge) on Wrexham Road has reopened after a £350k refurbishment.
Under new ownership, the venue has been completely transformed into a rustic and relaxed country pub, complete with stylish décor, cosy nooks and a dining space with views of the grounds.
Dining at The Savvy Fox
The venue has an all-new British-influenced menu of pub classics, signature dishes, Sunday roasts and desserts, along with an extensive selection of beer, wine, spirits and cocktails.
Chef/consultant Lee Adams and The Savvy Fox team have worked together to design a launch menu with broad appeal, encompassing breakfast, lunch, dinner and lighter bites.
Menu highlights include a shepherd’s pie made with a whole lamb shank, sea bass and sundried tomato risotto and ‘Savvy’ herby-battered fish and chips.
Steven Hesketh, who owns the venue along with Dan Gillon, comments: "We’ve put together something really special in the new Savvy Fox menu. There are some real standout dishes and, of course, the crowd-pleasing classics you’d expect at a really good gastropub. We wanted to create something that was elevated yet still affordable and memorable and we really feel we’ve achieved that."
