Kricket founders open second speakeasy
SOMA has opened its doors in Canary Wharf alongside the latest Kricket restaurant.
Kricket co-founders Rik Campbell and Will Bowlby have opened their second speakeasy bar.
SOMA has opened its doors in Canary Wharf alongside the latest Kricket restaurant, after debuting on Denman Street in Soho in September 2021.
Named after the Hindu Moon God, the bar offers a menu of drinks inspired by the diverse flavours of the Indian subcontinent and surrounding regions.
The drinks menu has been created by Kricket’s head of beverage Will Rogers and his team, and follows a ‘less is more’ philosophy, highlighting seasonal ingredients and high-quality spirits and spices.
The bar space features an industrial aesthetic with exposed concrete, brightened by a yellow and red geometric light fixture. The central bar can seat up to 50 covers and is concealed from street view. A lounge room adjacent to the bar can be closed off for private events.
Kricket was founded in 2015 by university friends Bowlby and Campbell, and offers Indian-inspired cuisine that fuses British ingredients with the vibrant flavours of India.
Originating as a 20-seater in a shipping container at Pop Brixton, Kricket has expanded to four permanent locations in Brixton, Soho, White City and Canary Wharf.
