Pitcher & Piano Birmingham closes for refurbishment

Pitcher & Piano's Birmingham venue will undergo a £800k renovation, with the site due to reopen in October with a brand-new look.

Located on the water's edge in the city's Brindleyplace, the bar is a flagship venue in the group's 16-strong estate.

The interior will receive a complete overhaul; on top of a new ground floor fluted bar, the venue will display a fresh colour palette and mid-height booths with table lamps to create a more homely feel. On the lower ground floor, herringbone wood panelling will be added, along with a photo booth.

The revamp will see the venue's covers grow to 168, including canal-side tables. The external areas on both the ground and lower ground floors will showcase the new look with an al fresco space designed to make the outdoor space feel like an extension of the internal, edged with box hedges and festoon lights.

A bookable private dining space will also be offered, alongside spaces for drinks occasions.

The bar will continue to offer a menu of fresh food and bottomless brunches, as well as an extensive list of cocktails and a premium range of spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks.

"We're really excited to announce that Pitcher & Piano Birmingham, one of our most popular venues that has been in Brindleyplace for over 20 years, will be receiving an extensive refurbishment," says Geoff Webber, director of operations at Pitcher & Piano. "The bar is much loved by its regulars and a stalwart of the thriving hospitality scene in Brindleyplace. Pitcher & Piano is for every occasion: welcoming guests from day to night, whether it's a special event or just after-work drinks."
