Former Richmond pub The Hope has been redeveloped into the area’s first private members’ club following a six-figure investment.

The Richmond Club is now open, created by local resident Maureen Heffernan, and applications are still open for membership which includes a daytime only option (10am-6pm); full; couple and corporate options as well as a discount for the under-27s.

Interiors include booth seating, sofas and crystal lighting; the first floor accommodates creatives, diners and is available for private hire.

The heated outside area provides a patio with lights and plants, where guests can drink cocktails, whisky and wine.

The menu features small plates, and brunch is available at the weekend.

A virus-killing air purification system has been installed, which neutralises 99% of viruses and bacteria in the air and on all surfaces, creating a continuously, safe and sanitised environment. No harmful chemicals are used as the process produces hydroperoxides.

“We are incredibly excited to open the doors and welcome the first members to The Richmond Club,” says Heffernan. “At a time when hospitality is facing huge challenges it is refreshing to bring something different that enables business to continue away from home without the commute.

“We are delighted to have a few ‘firsts’ too, including Richmond’s first private members club, the first venue is the area to pour ABK Hell and Weissbier on draught as well as the first venue in the area to install the game-changing Clenzair system.”

The Richmond Club is open from 10am–11pm, under current government restrictions until licensing hours can be permitted.
